Cooling & Insulation

Keep it Cool!
The harder you make your car or truck work, the hotter it's going to get under the hood.
If you upgrade to bigger, heavier wheels, make a lot of engine upgrades, or do a lot of
heavy towing or off-roading, you're probably going to exceed the original cooling capacity.

One way to add cooling capacity is with performance radiators and coolers. Too much heat
can make engine fluids boil or lose viscosity. These heat exchangers route fluids away
from heat sources to allow all them to cool off. Usually, this is done by placing the cooler somewhere
air can pass through it while the vehicle is in motion.

The other way to help cool your engine compartment is with electric fans. They move more air
through the compartment to carry away more heat. Most can be connected to a thermostat,
so they automatically activate when the temperature exceeds a certain level and then turn off
when they're not needed.
